Job summary

Worley Group, Inc. in Baton Rouge, LA, seeks a civil/structural designer to take projects from concept to detailed design for onshore manufacturing facilities. You will produce 2D drawings and 3D models, develop material take-offs, and support the project team.

The role requires a diploma in engineering design and drafting, 5+ years with PDMS/E3D and AutoCAD, and strong English communication. Familiarity with CADWorx and regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil/structural 2D drawings and 3D models for onshore projects.
• Prepare structural material take-offs.
• Provide technical support to the project team.
• Identify issues, compare solutions, and document deviations.
• Coordinate with structural and other disciplines to align data.
• Consider safety, constructability, operability, and maintainability.
• Prepare as-built drawings and design new components from existing designs.
• Collaborate with Global Integrated Delivery team.

Purpose

Perform civil/structural design work from conceptual design to detailed design of onshore manufacturing projects.

Responsibilities

* Prepare civil/structural design 2D drawings and 3D models based on engineering information, site data and customer requirements for:

o Civil/structural general arrangement

o Structural pipe supports, pipe racks, platforms, building and equipment supports, lift arrangements, paving/grading, underground pipe, foundations, etc

* Prepare structural Material Take-offs

* Provide technical support to the project team

* Determines technical issues, defines alternate solutions, establishes pros/cons for multiple solutions, and makes recommendations to support official project documents such as technical queries, technical deviations, etc

* Coordinate with structural engineering team and gather information from other disciplines, with knowledge of the impact of other disciplines design data on structural design

* Seeks input from knowledgeable sources, considers safety, constructability, operability, and maintainability into design

* Other responsibilities include preparing as-built drawings, design and detailing new components from previous designs

* Work with global integrated delivery team (GID)

Minimum Tasks

* 3D Model

o Create 3D model to Client Specifications

o Ensure objects are placed in correct hierarchy

o Ensure all attributes are set

o Complete Modeling Checklists

o Run Clash Check and resolve all clashes before submitting check prints

o Run MTO/Weight reports for Structures in an area

* Develop 2D Drawings

o Develop all necessary drawings and details to ensure complete fabrication

o Complete Checklists

o Ensure drawings incorporate all engineering review comments

o Ensure drawings incorporate all Client review comments

o Ensure all drawing attributes are set

Qualifications

* A diploma in Engineering design and drafting or equivalent

* Strong working knowledge of PDMS/E3D and AutoCAD - Minimum 5 years' experience

* CADWorx experience is a plus

* Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry standard practices for the control, development, and application of deliverables

* Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

* Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with other designers and engineers to achieve an optimal drawing product

* Successful candidates will be self-starters with an aptitude for problem solving and innovation and the ability to work independently or as a member of a team. They must be capable of working with a team on a large project

• Ability to obtain and maintain TWIC card and pass background checks

* Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States
