Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation invites qualified students to join as a Structural Engineer (Transmission Line) Summer Intern. You will contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects and gain hands-on experience across disciplines, working in a collaborative team environment.

Chosen candidates will be located in Overland Park (KS), Bloomington (MN), Dallas (TX), or Houston (TX). This internship offers exposure to design specifications, analyses, and drawings with mentorship and professional growth

Qualifications

  • No experience required; currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program with a structural emphasis.
  • Preference for at least one design course within coursework.
  • Must pass pre-employment onboarding (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records).

Responsibilities

  • Support development of design specifications and contract drawings.
  • Assist engineering analyses, report production, and design tasks.
  • Prepare basic calculations.
  • Organize and file project materials and references.

Job Summary

As a Structural Engineer (Transmission Line) Summer Intern at Black & Veatch, you will play a meaningful role in addressing some of the world’s most critical infrastructure challenges. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to diverse, impactful projects that support our clients’ goals while fostering your professional growth and advancing the success of Black & Veatch.

Chosen candidates will be located in (or relocate to) Overland Park (KS), Bloomington (MN), Dallas (TX), or Houston (TX).

Minimum Qualifications

No experience required. Current enrollment in ABET accredited university in Civil Engineering program with a preferred emphasis in Structural Engineering. Preference in coursework is at least 1 design course. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
