STRUCTURAL ENGINEER-IN-TRAINING (SEIT) Hybrid Role

Job Description:

Position: STRUCTURAL ENGINEER-IN-TRAINING (SEIT)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Salary: Based on experience

Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote

Responsibilities:

Specific Responsibilities:

• Analyze and design structures according to current codes, criteria, and structural mechanics.
• Design permanent structures such as bridges, sign foundations, moment slabs, MSE walls, etc.
• Design temporary structures, including but not limited to:
• Formwork/Falsework Design
• Erection, Demolition, and Heavy Lift Planning
• Support of Excavation Systems
• Load Rating and Evaluation of Existing Structures
• Temporary Bridges and Work Trestles
• Fall Protection Systems
• Barge Analysis
• Provide on-site design engineering support and inspections.
• Coordinate with Project Engineers and Project Managers to resolve issues.
• Assist with material and shop drawing submittals.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree or higher in Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (Master's preferred).
• GPA above 3.0 is highly preferred.
• 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with permanent and temporary structures, construction engineering, or construction labor is a plus.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam or ability to pass within the first year.
• Strong understanding of constructability and structural engineering principles.
• Experience with design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, RISA-3D, MathCAD, SkyCiv, etc.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Team player with a drive to succeed.
