Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Structural Engineer/Structural Designer to design structural systems from schematics through construction administration for diverse projects. You will collaborate with architects and MEP teams in an integrated design approach to elevate the built environment.

The ideal candidate will lead structural design efforts, produce calculations, and act as SEOR while coordinating across disciplines. Florida licensure and 7+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering.
• Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) in Florida.
• 7+ years of structural design experience for new and existing buildings.
• Experience with concrete, masonry, steel, and wood structural systems.
• Proficiency with structural software ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA and Enercalc.
• Strong problem solving, creativity and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural designs from concept through construction for various building types.
• Prepare engineering calculations and structural system layouts.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.
• Act as Structural Engineer-of-Record (SEOR).
• Coordinate with architecture, MEP and other disciplines.
• Write and review specifications.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs and submittals.
• Conduct site visits as needed.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients within the integrated design process.
