Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Structural Engineer to design structural systems from schematic through construction administration for diverse building types.

As an employee-owned firm, you will contribute to the ownership culture while applying problem-solving, creativity, and strong attention to detail. Expect collaboration with architects and engineers on an integrated design team and BIM workflows using Revit.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering.
• Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) in Florida.
• 7+ years of structural design experience on new and existing buildings; knowledge of concrete, masonry, steel, wood, gravity and lateral systems.
• Proficient with structural software ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural designs from concept through construction for a variety of buildings.
• Prepare engineering calculations and structural layouts.
• Produce detailed reports and narratives.
• Serve as Structural Engineer-of-Record (SEOR).
• Coordinate with architects, MEP, and other disciplines.

Position Summary:

As a Structural Engineer/Structural Designer at DLR Group you will be responsible for the design of structural systems from schematics through construction administration on a wide range of new and existing building types. As part of the integrated design team you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design.

The successful candidate will:

• Develop structural designs from concept through completion of construction for new and existing building types.
• Prepare engineering design calculations and structural system layouts
• Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives
• Act as a Structural Engineer-Of-Record (SEOR)
• Coordinate structural design with architecture, MEP and other disciplines
• Produce construction documents using Revit
• Write and review specifications
• Review shop drawings, RFIs and submittals
• Conduct site visits when needed
• Collaborate with architects, other engineers, and clients as part of our integrated design process

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering
• Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) in the state of Florida.
• 7+ years of new and existing buildings structural engineering experience, including the design of concrete, masonry, steel, wood materials; gravity and lateral systems
• Working knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc)
• Goal oriented with strong skills in problem solving, creativity, and attention to detail
• Understanding of commercial building materials, systems, and assemblies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering
• Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) in U.S. Virgin Islands
• Experience and interest in sustainable building design
• Experience with BIM including Autodesk Revit workflow
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
