Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a Structural Engineer to perform analyses and designs for reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry systems. You will develop models, drawings and specs, and coordinate with other engineering disciplines on projects of varying complexity.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Civil/Architectural/Structural Engineering or related field, plus at least 1 year of related experience; travel may be required depending on workload.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• 1 year of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency of travel contingent on workload and project demands.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analyses and designs for reinforced concrete, structural steel, reinforced masonry, and other metal structures of basic complexity to meet client project requirements.
• Assist in the development of models, drawings, and specifications.
• Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Coordinate designs with other engineering disciplines.
• Apply firm policies and practices on all designs.
• Assist in structural condition assessment and confined space entries.
• Contribute to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.
• Submit technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
• Perform other duties as required. May create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for a conference.
