Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering;
  • 2–5 years structural engineering experience;
  • EIT preferred or ability to obtain shortly after hire;
  • Experience with structural analysis software (SAP2000/ETABS/STAAD.Pro/RAM);
  • Knowledge of structural steel, concrete, masonry and wood design;
  • Familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC standards;
  • Strong written and verbal communication;
  • Ability to work both independently and with a multidisciplinary team;
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident;
  • Ability to obtain/maintain suitability for federal projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and engineering calculations for rehabilitation and repair projects.
  • Prepare construction drawings, specifications, reports, calculations, and other documents.
  • Develop structural details for repairs and renovations of existing structures.
  • Conduct site visits and field investigations to evaluate conditions.
  • Assist with structural condition assessments and recommendations for repair and rehabilitation.
  • Support construction administration, including RFIs and submittals responses.
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, civil engineers and other disciplines.
  • Apply building codes, federal criteria and standards to design work.
  • Use structural analysis/design software to complete assignments.
  • Assist with proposals and technical narratives as needed.
  • Maintain project documentation and support schedules.
  • Pursue professional licensure.
