Structural Engineer (Hybrid/Remote)

VAA's Structural Engineering team is responsible for designing, analyzing, and ensuring the integrity of structures across a variety of projects. We work on a diverse range of buildings, infrastructure, and industrial facilities, providing innovative solutions to meet both functional and safety requirements. The team focuses on delivering high-quality structural designs, collaborating with architects, partners, and other engineers to create efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions that adhere to regulatory standards and client specifications.

Your role:

1. Deliver high-quality engineering services rooted in your knowledge of engineering fundamentals, design codes, and industry standards, combined with your problem-solving ability, analytical skills, personal diligence, and prior experience.
2. Work efficiently and collaborate effectively with the project team, including external team members, to deliver value to our clients.
3. Undertake increasingly complex design tasks and responsibilities with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
4. Support the development and success of your peers and/or less experienced engineers.
5. Identify and assess design options in the preliminary phase to inform sound decision-making by the project team and/or client. Communicate concepts effectively.
6. Prepare calculations, edit specifications, and coordinate drawings.
7. Review project documents for quality and coordination with all disciplines.
8. Communicate with clients and contractors regarding construction RFIs and review shop drawings.
9. Perform site visits/observations (Potential 10% travel to construction sites).
10. Write proposals and help estimate project fees, as needed.

Your resume must include:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with structural engineering emphasis.
• 5+ years of experience without PE or 4 years of experience with PE.

Starting Annual Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000. A variety of factors are considered when determining an offer, including market data, geographic location, experience, and specialized skills.
