Job summary

Dennis Group is seeking a Junior/Senior Civil/Structural Engineering student to contribute to the design, analysis, and preparation of drawings for food and beverage processing facilities. You will work on strength, stability, and stresses assessments alongside a skilled team.

The role involves creating analysis models, coordinating with disciplines, and supporting the preparation of contract drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
GPA of 3.0 or above.
EIT/FE desirable; experience with structural calculations or modeling is a plus.

Responsibilities

Apply extensive knowledge of principles and practices for a wide range of materials and construction techniques.
Perform hand calculations and create computer analysis models for structural design tasks.
Determine the correct building code and any local amendments.
Document gravity, wind, and seismic design loads; coordinate with other disciplines.
Design common structural framing systems (steel, composite steel, joists) and foundations (spread footings, drilled piers).
Draft sketches, contract drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.
Review shop drawings, calculations, and project documentation for conformity and quality assurance.
Travel to project sites as needed (15 days a year).
