Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Structural Engineer to join our client in East London for port facilities and related infrastructure. The role focuses on designing durable structures capable of withstanding harsh marine environments and heavy loads, contributing significantly to regional maritime growth.

You will collaborate with marine engineers, project managers, and construction teams, conducting site inspections and supervising construction phases to ensure technical excellence

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
  • Registration with ECSA is mandatory.
  • 7+ years of experience in heavy industrial or marine structures.
  • Experience with structural analysis and design software (STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, Revit).
  • Knowledge of marine corrosion protection materials.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze structural components for port infrastructure (jetties, wharves, buildings).
  • Assess existing structures for integrity and design upgrades or repairs.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, calculations, and specifications using advanced software.
  • Ensure compliance with maritime, civil, and structural codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities


  • Design and analyze structural components for port infrastructure, including jetties, wharves, and buildings.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of materials behavior in marine environments and corrosion protection.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience in managing complex engineering challenges.
