Job summary

Techoundsllc invites a structural engineer to join our Santa Barbara office. The role focuses on structural analysis and design for small to mid-sized buildings, under the supervision of Senior Project Engineers and Project Managers. You will apply your analytical skills and collaborate across disciplines to deliver safe, efficient designs.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of experience, a licensed E.I.T. or PE is preferred, and proficiency with ETABS, SAFE, RAM, and RISA.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in structural analysis and design.
• Licensed E.I.T. or PE preferred for the state of office applying for.
• Experience with structural engineering design, planning, and technical analysis under senior guidance.
• Experience with small to mid-sized buildings including new construction, renovations, and seismic upgrades a plus.
• Detailing experience with gravity and lateral framing.
• Proficient with ETABS, SAFE, RAM, and RISA.
• Proficient with IBC, CBC, ASCE 7, ACI-318, and AISC-341. Knowledge of ASCE-41 a plus.
• Knowledge of NDS. Mass Timber is a plus.
• General programming or Grasshopper/Rhino knowledge is a plus.
• DSA and/or OSHPD experience with plan checks and construction phases a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design under supervision of senior engineers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop project solutions.
• Contribute to design for small to mid-sized buildings including renovations and seismic upgrades.
• Assist with detailing and coordination of structural systems.
• Support plan check and construction phase activities as needed.

Job description

• Detailing experience with various structural systems including gravity and lateral framing.
• Proficient with industry software such as ETABS, SAFE, RAM, and RISA. Others a plus.
