Qualifications

• Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university majoring in civil or structural engineering and two years of full-time, post-degree structural engineering experience related to the District's activities.
• Full-time graduate study in structural engineering may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and checks structural plans and specifications.
• Reviews contractor submittals and shop drawings for conformity with contract documents.
• Supervises and checks the work of draftsmen in preparation of their layouts and drawings.
• Prepares and checks cost estimates for structural components of projects.
• Communicates with staff members from other departments and sections, contractors, and vendors.
• Makes field investigations and reports on conditions of structural components of facilities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
