Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Structural Engineer for a permanent, fully onsite role in Sun Prairie, WI. You will develop structural designs, drawings, and construction documents for custom building projects, with emphasis on layout, detailing, and design development, while supporting manufacturing and construction.

The ideal candidate will have a Civil Engineering degree with a structural focus or an related field; an associate degree with drafting/detailing experience is also acceptable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural or Architectural Engineering preferred.
• Associate’s degree with 1–3 years of drafting/detailing experience in the structural or construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare CAD drawings for custom fire-training structures.
• Compile accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Design new parts and custom details.
• Prepare structural calculations for specific projects.
• Manage projects from pre-construction through permitting.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements and local permitting.
• Collaborate with purchasing and suppliers.
• Maintain calculation systems and improve design processes.
