We also work on transportation projects including bridge, highway, and rail infrastructure and are actively looking for an Entry Level Bridge Engineer to join our Atlanta office.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Utilize structural analysis software for design, such as: Leap Bridge Concrete, Leap Bridge Steel, Open Bridge Modeler, STAAD, SAP2000, etc.
  • Complete design tasks with supervision and learn to work independently.
  • Coordinate the structural design with other disciplines and construction team.
  • Become familiar with various structural standards and design codes such as: AASHTO, AREMA, and the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) guidelines.
  • Compile data and perform calculations required for the preparation of drawings and design studies.
  • Prepare cost estimates.
  • Prepare construction documents.
  • Collaborate with Bridge and Roadway Design Team members and all company disciplines.
  • Conduct bridge inspections and assist in supervision of site investigations as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 2-4 years of experience.
  • OR Master’s degree in Structural Engineering with 0-2 years of experience.
  • EIT certification preferred.
  • Intern experience preferred.
  • Experience with GDOT projects desirable.
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or Open Bridge Modeler desirable.
  • Experience with LEAP, STAAD, SAP2000, or similar a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
  • Availability and willingness to travel.
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171.

Working conditions:

Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
