Coffman Engineers in Woodland Hills, CA is seeking a licensed Structural Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our multi-discipline firm. You will design steel, concrete and timber structures for commercial and institutional projects, working within a collaborative team in a hybrid environment.

The role requires CA PE licensure, local code experience, and strong communication skills to coordinate with architects, owners and contractors. Hybrid schedule offered.

Job Description

We are looking for a Structural Engineer with a minimum 5 years of experience for our LA - Woodland Hills office, who wants to work and grow as a team player within our progressive multi-discipline firm. The successful individual will be a licensed engineer with solid experience in the design of steel, concrete and wood commercial/institutional buildings.

In This Role You Will

• Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of commercial & institutional building projects.
• Collaborate with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide a well-coordinated and high-quality set of structural drawings.
• Contribute to project teams of engineers, designers and drafters to execute structural designs.
• Meet with the project team to ensure effective communication flow during design.
• Interface with the contractor during construction to ensure positive results with minimum complications.
• Work closely with the Discipline Manager to support the needs of the department, projects, and growth objectives.

Compensation and Benefits

Approximate Base Salary - $95,000 - $120,000+ based on experience.
Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate.
Competitive end of year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance.
Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change).
401k with maximum of 5% Contribution Matching for 9% Employee Contribution.

Qualifications

• Essential Qualifications
• B.S. degree in Civil or Structural engineering.
• PE registration in California.
• 5 -10 years' experience with design of concrete, steel, and timber structures.
• Local California coding experience.
• Ability to work independently with proper engineering oversight.
• Ability to work and collaborate in larger project teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered CA Structural Engineer.
• M.S. degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
• Multi-discipline project management experience.
• Experience with DSA and OSHPD.
• Experience with 3D modeling software (ETABS, RISA, SAFE).
