Job summary

Selectek in Salt Lake City is seeking a Structural Engineer PE to support design and analysis for heavy industrial projects across oil & gas, mining, energy, petrochemical, and related sectors. The role focuses on brownfield infrastructure, existing structure modifications, inspections, and upgrades throughout the western U.S.

Ideal candidates have 8–20 years of structural experience, strong steel and concrete design skills, and proficiency with RISA, RFEM, RAM or similar tools.

Qualifications

• 8–20 years of structural engineering experience.
• Extensive structural design and analysis experience.
• Experience with brownfield or existing structure modifications.
• Utah PE license or ability to obtain Utah reciprocity quickly.
• NCEES record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering design and analysis for industrial projects ranging from small modifications to large capital projects.
• Support brownfield and existing facility structural modifications.
• Conduct structural inspections and develop repair recommendations.
• Perform steel and concrete structural design and analysis.
• Utilize structural modeling software including RISA, RFEM, RAM, or similar tools.
• Develop engineering calculations and technical documentation.
• Track project schedules, deliverables, and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate project activities with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support proposal development and project planning efforts.
• Participate in client meetings and project coordination activities.
• Conduct site visits and field inspections as required.
• Support project management activities and staff coordination.

Job Overview: Seeking an experienced Structural Engineer PE to support engineering design and analysis efforts for heavy industrial projects across oil & gas, mining, energy, petrochemical, material handling, and related industrial sectors. This role will support brownfield infrastructure projects, existing structure modifications, structural inspections, and industrial facility upgrades throughout the western U.S.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering design and analysis for industrial projects ranging from small modifications to large capital projects
• Support brownfield and existing facility structural modifications
• Conduct structural inspections and develop repair recommendations
• Perform steel and concrete structural design and analysis
• Utilize structural modeling software including RISA, RFEM, RAM, or similar tools
• Develop engineering calculations and technical documentation
• Track project schedules, deliverables, and engineering documentation
• Coordinate project activities with multidisciplinary teams

• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Ability and willingness to travel to project sites
