Job summary

Given Talent Solutions is seeking a Structural Engineer to design, analyze, and evaluate structural systems for commercial, industrial, and manufacturing facilities in California. You will work with architects, civil, mechanical/electrical engineers, and project managers to deliver safe, cost-effective, and code-compliant solutions.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in civil engineering with a structural emphasis and at least three years of experience, plus knowledge of IBC/ASCE/AISC/ACI

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• 3+ years of structural engineering experience.
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain.
• Strong knowledge of IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI codes.
• Experience designing for commercial, industrial, or manufacturing facilities.
• Experience with structural design software (AutoCAD/Revit preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and foundation systems.
• Prepare structural calculations, engineering reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Develop structural designs that meet building codes, safety regulations, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, civil, mechanical/electrical engineers, contractors, and PMs.
• Perform structural assessments, inspections, and evaluations of existing buildings/infrastructure.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Support construction by responding to technical questions and site visits as needed.
• Identify design risks and propose cost-effective solutions.
• Utilize structural analysis software to model and evaluate performance.
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Maintain thorough project documentation and engineering records.

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is responsible for designing, analyzing, and evaluating structural systems for commercial, industrial, and manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, cost-effective, and code-compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop structural designs that meet applicable building codes, safety regulations, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, mechanical/electrical engineers, contractors, and project managers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform structural assessments, inspections, and evaluations of existing buildings and infrastructure.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Support construction activities by responding to technical questions and conducting site visits as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, and other applicable design codes.
• Experience designing structural systems for commercial, industrial, or manufacturing facilities.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as RISA, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, RAM Structural System, or similar platforms.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with seismic design and structural rehabilitation.
• Familiarity with industrial equipment foundations and heavy manufacturing facilities.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Project management experience is a plus.
