The Structural Engineer makes sure each building and equipment support can carry the loads placed on it, including heavy electrical and mechanical equipment and earthquake forces. What you will do
  • Design and review foundations, slabs, steel framing, roof structures and equipment pads.
  • Design for heavy equipment loads from generators, transformers, rooftop mechanical units and racks.
  • Carry out seismic design and equipment anchorage, which is especially important at the California sites.
  • Evaluate existing buildings for conversion or retrofit.
  • Prepare calculations and drawings for permits and respond to plan review comments.
  • Manage outside structural consultants and review their work.
  • Observe construction on site, and review submittals and contractor questions.
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering.
  • 5 or more years of structural design experience.
  • Knowledge of ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360 and the International and California building codes.
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000 or RISA.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Preferred qualifications
  • Structural Engineer (SE) license with an experience working as an Engineer of Record (EOR).
  • Master's degree or higher in structural engineering.
  • Experience with seismic anchorage of equipment in critical facilities.
Additional Requirements
  • Willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
  • Must be willing to travel to other LFG locations
  • Office-based
  • Frequent travel to construction and operating sites
