A Structural Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Ogden, UT area. This job supports the design, analysis, and documentation of civil/structural systems producing calculations, drawings, and specifications while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure code compliance, constructability, and project success from concept through construction.

responsibilities:
Level I Responsibilities:
- Contribute to civil/structural designs under supervision.
- Assist in creating construction drawings, project schedules, and presentation materials.
- Prepare basic steel and concrete calculations.
- Review manufacturers' drawings and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Participate in the design of minor structures or portions of buildings.
- Maintain technical logs and documentation.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and support team presentations.
- Assist in constructability reviews and documentation.
Level II Responsibilities:- Plan and prepare layout drawings for small structures and infrastructure (e.g., roads, railways).
- Ensure structural designs comply with local and national codes and regulations.
- Conduct structural analysis using knowledge of statics, dynamics, and material properties.
- Determine appropriate materials (steel, concrete, wood, masonry) based on structural loads and stress conditions.
- Originate engineering deliverables including calculations, specifications, and requisitions.
- Develop building interface details and review for accuracy.
- Prepare 2D/3D CAD models and construction drawings.
- Perform technical bid evaluations and recommend contract awards.
- Support other engineering disciplines on structural-related issues.
- Review and approve vendor and construction drawings.
- Assist in preparing conceptual studies, technical reports, and proposals.
- Provide input for quantity take-offs and estimates.
- Participate in constructability reviews and field coordination.
Education & Experience Requirements:- Level I: 1-2 years (with degree) or 5-6 years (with relevant experience).
- Level II: Bachelor's degree + 2-5 years experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge & Skills:- Proficient in Microsoft Office and common engineering tools.
- strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of: AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 318 & ASCE 7
- International Building Code (IBC)
- Experience with structural analysis software: GTSTRUDL or STAAD.Pro.
- Familiarity with Tekla and 3D modeling software.
- Intermediate knowledge of SpecsIntact or CSI MasterFormat specifications.
Preferred Qualifications:- Active security clearance.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Master's degree in Structural or related Engineering.
- Experience working with the Department of Defense.
- Design experience using Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG).
