Job summary

Examplecorpsandbox is looking for a dedicated Civil/Structural Engineer for their Nuclear Service Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding and coordinating roles with other engineering disciplines, preparing design studies, and managing project scopes.

A B.S. in Civil Engineering and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in power system design in the Nuclear Industry are required. Strong proficiency in structural calculations and familiarity with building codes are essential. This full-time position is located in Baton Rouge, LA or Kennesaw, GA.

Qualifications

About the position

Due to continued growth, our Nuclear Service Group is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer for our Baton Rouge, LA or Kennesaw, GA Office.

Responsibilities (including but are not limited to)

• Understanding roles played by other disciplines on the project and possessing the ability to coordinate and interface with other engineering disciplines.
• Participating in reviewing and checking designs, drawings, and data prepared by other engineers or subcontractors.
• Preparing design studies, project scopes and engineering estimates.
• Managing budget, scope, schedule, and quality associated with the designated work assignment with minimal guidance and technical oversight.
• Preparing electrical equipment procurement and installation specifications and can evaluate technical bids and select equipment.
• Devising new approaches to technical problems.
• Traveling and participating in field installation, checkout, and start-up.
• Directing and overseeing routine and advanced technical work performed by others on assigned projects and maintaining quality standards of all assigned projects.

Required Qualifications / skills

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 6 years of power system design experience in the Nuclear Industry
• Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of structural calculations is desired
• Knowledge of discipline-specific computer analysis codes as well as standard office production software
• Proficient in Word and Excel
• Familiar with the International Building code and building code design
• Good writing, presentation, and communication skills
• Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
• Familiar with concrete and steel design codes and with working stress and ultimate strength design approaches

Employment requirement

Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies.
