Discovered Search seeks a Structural Engineer in New Orleans to deliver precise structural design across commercial, industrial, and public sectors. You will contribute from concept through construction, integrating with civil design, surveying, and field technologies.

You will design foundations, framing, and seismic considerations; prepare calculations, drawings, and reports; review site plans; and participate in field inspections.

What you'll be doing

• Designing structural components including foundations, retaining walls, slabs, framing systems, and miscellaneous structural elements
• Preparing calculations, drawings, and technical reports
• Reviewing civil site plans and coordinating on load paths, grading impacts, and constructability considerations
• Completing field inspections, construction observations, and structural assessments
• Collaborating with civil engineers, surveyors, project managers, and architects
• Ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and best practices
• Supporting the development of junior engineering staff as needed

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 2-5+ years of structural engineering experience preferred
• Proficiency with structural analysis and CAD modeling software
