Job summary

Requirements

• 5+ years of structural design experience
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering (Master's a plus)
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Illinois, SE preferred
• Experience with structural design of bridges, retaining walls, junction chambers, and other transportation related design
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and contractor coordination
• Ability to perform field investigations, site visits, and construction‑phase support as needed

Job duties

• Lead the structural engineering effort for transportation and public infrastructure projects delivered for a variety of governmental and municipal clients.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineering professionals and design staff, supporting project execution and employee development.
• Prepare and review engineering analyses, technical documentation, and construction plans for a diverse range of transportation‑related structures and infrastructure components.
• Support the design of highway, roadway, drainage, and structural systems, ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations.
• Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining project schedules, budgets, and quality expectations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical and cost‑effective engineering solutions.
