Job summary

HDR is looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services team in Omaha, NE. In this role, you will review structural documents, write specifications, coordinate the design team, and ensure compliance with codes.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and possess at least 3 years of experience in structural engineering, along with proficiency in various engineering software. This is a full-time position.

Other locations include Des Moines, IA, and Lincoln, NE.

Qualifications

• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board.
• Previous structural engineer experience required.

Job description

HDR is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services team in Omaha, NE.

In this role, you will:

• Review structural documents for conflicts with all disciplines.
• Write and edit structural specifications, select procedures, materials and sizes, and complete necessary calculations.
• Independently coordinate the work of the structural design team through the design development and contract document phases.
• Establish meetings and participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
• Conduct design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Coordinate workload to complete documents on schedule during design development and construction phases.
• Assist affected disciplines with addenda, requests for information, change proposal requests, and change orders, incorporating agreed changes.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Architectural Engineering with structural emphasis.
• A minimum of 3 years of structural engineering experience.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board in the location of the position (PE or P.Eng).
• Previous structural engineer experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE, or similar software.
• Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
