Job summary

Southern Engineering Company is seeking a senior structural engineer to join the design-build group within the Wayne Brothers family of companies. The role focuses on structural design for industrial projects, delivering construction-ready drawings, calculations, and specifications, and providing oversight to design teams.

The position involves travel within the southeastern United States and may be based at Davidson, NC, Walterboro, SC, or Eagleville, TN, with collaboration across operation

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in structural design or related construction experience
• Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural engineering from an accredited program
• Master of Science with Structural emphasis preferred
• Strong communication skills with demonstrated interface with clients

Responsibilities

• Integral member of the design-build process from conception through construction
• Timely completion of structural analysis to support issuance of Construction Documents
• Delivery of complete and accurate drawings, calculations, and specifications
• Provide oversight to junior engineers
• Work closely with Designer/Draftsperson to produce construction documents
• Perform site evaluations and inspections of existing conditions and in-progress construction

Job description

Southern Engineering Company (SEC) is seeking a senior structural engineer to join the growing design-build

business line within the Wayne Brothers’ family of companies.

In the role, the senior engineer will engage in structural design related to industrial projects of various

types and provide oversight to design teams to deliver construction ready drawings, specifications,

supporting calculations and other related deliverables. Projects will provide a wide-ranging variety of

concrete and structural steel design activities largely related to equipment support, industrial structures,

access/egress, as well as concrete containment and storage solutions.

The position can be based from any of our Operation Centers located in Davidson, NC, Walterboro, SC or

Eagleville, TN. Some travel will be required, primarily focused within the southeastern United States.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Integral member of the design-build process from conception through construction
• Responsible for timely completion of structural analysis to support issuance of Construction Documents

• Provide oversight to junior engineers

REQUIREMENTS
