Structural Engineer - Entry Level - Position and Responsibilities

As an entry-level Structural Engineer with Middough, you will create and establish simple designs consistent with good practices, client requirements, and conformance to Codes & Standards. You will also apply standard drafting techniques to generate and interpret drawings in support of projects and provide guidance to drafters to ensure adherence to design standards.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Generate design and detail drawings including plans, sections, and isometrics to support Discipline Leads.
2. Manage and maintain project documentation such as CAD drawings and reference files.
3. Handle single-discipline projects by estimating work hours, developing scope, making staffing recommendations, and ensuring quality.
4. Coordinate with other departments and suppliers to gather necessary information.

Education, Experience, and Skills

The successful candidate will possess:

• Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 0-3 years of experience.
• Proficiency in drafting/design techniques and 3-D CAD/Revit software.
• Knowledge of relevant Codes and Standards.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and organize effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

While performing the essential functions, the candidate will:

• Remain stationary for periods and frequently walk, reach, climb, and use repetitive motions.
• Use up-close and distance vision, with the ability to focus.
• May be exposed to environmental conditions such as climbing ladders, extreme temperatures, or noise.
• Occasionally travel to client sites or other company locations.
• Possess a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• Work overtime as needed based on project demands.
