Job Summary

We're looking for a Structural Engineer to join our team in the Iowa City, IA area. You'll design and analyze steel and concrete structures for industrial, commercial, and institutional projects, with a primary focus on heavy industrial and manufacturing facilities. This role offers the opportunity to independently tackle engineering challenges while working alongside experienced project managers and designers.

What You’ll Do

• Perform structural analysis, calculate loads, and select structural members based on strength and serviceability requirements.
• Design steel structures, including buildings, platforms, trusses, support towers, and structural connections, along with shallow and deep foundations, concrete vaults, tunnels, and reinforced slabs.
• Apply domestic and international structural design codes to develop practical, safe, and constructible engineering solutions.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, and designs, review and redline Revit drawings, and verify field conditions to resolve construction challenges.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful projects while receiving mentorship from experienced structural engineers.

What You’ll Bring

• A bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• At least 2 years of structural engineering experience, with exposure to industrial, manufacturing, or other large-scale structural projects.
• Experience applying structural engineering codes, with proficiency in RISA 3D, Bluebeam, Revit, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, along with the initiative to work independently and collaborate effectively with clients and other disciplines.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward taking the PE exam within the next two years is a plus.

We offer a competitive base salary of $74,000–$83,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with:
