Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a qualified engineer in El Segundo, CA, to lead New Glenn Structural Dynamics certification activities, verify coupled loads analyses, and assess booster recovery environments for Falcon and New Glenn programs.

The role requires coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines, interfacing with government customers, and ensuring compliance with verification and reuse criteria while maintaining the technical baseline.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering or Physical Science from a recognized institution.
  • 8+ years of applicable experience in structural engineering and launch vehicles (or 12+ years for Senior Project Engineer, including advanced degrees)
  • Experience with dynamic testing and assessment of complex structures and components
  • Experience working with a variety of engineering disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external organizations
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required

  • Coordinate and maintain support for the assessment of the New Glenn Launch System design, operational capabilities, and mission assurance
  • Ensure Falcon Launch System meets the government evaluation criteria for non‑recurring design validation, recurring verification, and reuse extension
  • Support configuration control efforts to maintain vehicle baseline acceptance

About the Role

The Launch Systems, Operations, and Development (LSOD) team within the Launch Systems Division is seeking a well‑qualified individual with demonstrated leadership and exceptional communication abilities to manage New Glenn Structural Dynamics certification activities. These activities include verification of coupled loads analysis, booster recovery environment assessment, and risk resolution, as well as supporting Falcon launch vehicle design evaluation and mission assurance tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinating Structural Loads analyses with customer
  • Serve as a Launch Vehicle Loads technical focal point for ETG, contractor, and customer interactions

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Advanced knowledge of Structural Dynamics and/or Dynamic Environments methodologies and tools
  • Familiarity with NSSL standards related to launch vehicle and spacecraft environment (e.g., NSSL-S-004)
  • Working knowledge of the mission assurance process and ability to coordinate it across multiple disciplines
Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package with a grade‑based pay range of $117,300.00 to $226,900.00 per year, plus variable pay for exceptional contributions.
