Actalent in Saint Louis, MO is seeking a Mechanical Drafter to support industrial and heavy construction projects. Responsibilities include drafting, modeling, and analysis using STAAD and Trek, coordinating with mechanical, piping, and electrical teams, and ensuring compliance with codes and client specs.

This contract-to-hire role offers exposure to large-scale facilities and growth opportunities. The position is onsite in Saint Louis, MO, with a five-day workweek and a competitive hourly pay

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Design Technology, or related field.
• 3+ years of structural design/drafting experience in industrial, EPC, or construction environments.
• Hands-on experience with STAAD and Trek software.
• Strong understanding of structural steel framing systems, concrete foundations, and anchor systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with standard drafting and design tools (AutoCAD familiarity preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop structural designs, layouts, and detailed drawings for steel, concrete, and foundation systems supporting industrial facilities.
• Create and maintain accurate 3D models and fabrication drawings using Trek.
• Translate engineering concepts, sketches, and markups into constructible design packages.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines to ensure design integration.
• Produce general arrangements, connection details, and erection drawings.
• Support material take-offs and assist with procurement documentation.
• Review vendor drawings and incorporate into design deliverables.
• Ensure drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
• Participate in design reviews and collaborate with project teams to meet scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
