A structural engineering firm is seeking a Structural Discipline Specialist for a hybrid position in Indianapolis. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of experience in engineering design for pharmaceutical and industrial facilities, a P.E. License, and strong leadership qualities. Responsibilities include leading structural design projects, providing technical guidance, and maintaining communication with clients. Relocation assistance is available, but no visa sponsorship will be provided.

About the job Structural Discipline Specialist

Qualifications:

• This is a direct to hire position
• Bachelors or Masters of Science in Civil/Structuring Engineering
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) License
• Minimum 12+ years of experience in engineering design of building structural systems for pharmaceutical/industrial/chemical facilities.
• Must have demonstrated experience in leading the structural design for steel and concrete structures on a variety of projects sizes and execution approaches.
• Must have advanced working proficiency in STAAD and STAAD Pro
• Must have working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Navis.
• Must have a solid working knowledge of building codes and other applicable structural codes.
• Must have previous leadership and mentoring experience for structural engineers and designers
• Should have and display strong communication skills both verbal and written.

Responsibilities:

• Provide discipline leadership for the structural design and documentation of various sizes and scopes of projects.
• Support the Department Manager by providing leadership for the Structural discipline components, ensuring at a high level, that the delivery of the Structural Design and Engineering deliverables meet quality expectations and schedules.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to less experienced personnel as necessary including encouraging and mentoring with their career advancement.
• Assist management with structural staff forecasting to balance the number of resources with the amount of work. This may include increasing staff, loaning to and/or borrowing from other offices, or shifting work between offices.
• Assist in the evaluation and employee performance feedback
• Assist in project proposals by ascertaining scope, determining the required engineering/design budgets
• Maintain effective communications with department members, higher management, and with clients.
• Promote the global data centric tool initiative and assist the team in growing technical competency

Comments/Special Instructions:

• Position is a hybrid (min 2 days in office) in Indianapolis office
• Relocation is available
