Job summary

Daifuku Intralogistics America Corporation seeks a highly skilled steel detailing engineer to drive the design and fabrication drawings for industrial storage and racking systems in large distribution centers.

You will use Advance Steel, Revit, and AutoCAD to produce detailed drawings, coordinate with structural engineers, and support field installation with accurate BOMs and layouts. Travel to sites is possible as projects require.

Qualifications

Associates degree in Structural, Architectural, or Mechanical design or equivalent experience.
5+ years of structural steel detailing experience.
Proficiency with Advance Steel, Revit and AutoCAD.
Proficiency with SolidWorks is a plus.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with Structural Engineering to review designs, set detailing requirements, and develop project schedules.
Prepare fabrication drawings and models using Advance Steel, AutoCAD, and Revit.
Collaborate with Engineering to resolve design and detailing issues.
Develop steel erection drawings, deck layouts, and flooring plans for field installation.
Generate BOMs for steel, decking, and flooring components to support fabrication and purchasing.
Assist with layout and design of new structures and modifications to existing storage systems using AutoCAD and Revit.
Occasional travel to project sites for field verification and coordination.
Evaluate detailing solutions for efficiency, constructability, and cost effectiveness.
Review and optimize detailing procedures for accuracy and cost efficiency.

Job Summary

Involved with projects from the quote stage to final engineering. Typical projects include the design andinstallation of industrial steel storage rack, structural steel platforms, conveyor support structures, shelving, elevated walkways, and custom designed products in large distribution centers. This position offers a unique

Coordinate with the Structural Engineering team to review project designs, establish detailing requirements, and develop project schedules and milestone dates.
Prepare detailed fabrication drawings and models using Advance Steel, AutoCAD, and Revit.
Collaborate with the Structural Engineering team to identify, evaluate, and resolve design and detailing issues.
Develop steel erection drawings, deck layouts, and flooring plans to support field installation activities.
Generate bills of material (BOMs) for fabricated steel, decking, and flooring components to support purchasing and fabrication operations.
Assist Structural Engineers with the layout, detailing, and design of new structures and modifications to existing storage systems using AutoCAD and Revit.
Conduct occasional travel to project sites for field verification, coordination, and construction support.
Evaluate project detailing solutions to optimize project efficiency, constructability, and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

Associates degree in Structural, Architectural, or Mechanical design or equivalent experience
Preferred 5+ years of structural steel detailing experience
Previous material handling or construction experience is a plus
Proficiency with Advance Steel, Revit and AutoCAD
Proficiency with SolidWorks is a plus
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to learn the material handling business and assist across teams and divisions within Daifuku
Ability to handle multiple project assignments and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced results oriented environment
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and vendors
Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Self-motivated and detail-oriented
Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language
