Job summary

ANS is seeking an entry-level Structural Designer I to join the growing structural engineering team in Raleigh, NC. You will learn to produce structural drawings, models, and details for solar, battery storage, and high-voltage projects under close supervision.

You will use Autodesk products to create drawings, assist with foundations, and coordinate with engineers, following CAD standards and client requirements. This role offers growth opportunities within a dynamic, innovative firm.

Qualifications

• Proficiency using Autodesk products to create and revise structural drawings, plans, sections, elevations, and details.
• Assist with drafting and detailing foundations, steel structures, envelopes, and non-building structures.
• Compile foundation BOMs and quantity takeoffs in coordination with the civil design team.
• Collaborate with structural engineers and senior designers to incorporate markups and revisions and follow CAD standards.

Responsibilities

• Use Autodesk products to prepare and revise structural construction drawings and details—plan views, sections, elevations, and details—under close supervision.
• Assist with drafting and detailing foundations (driven piles, screw and helical piles, and cast-in-place concrete), steel structures, building envelopes, and non-building structures.
• Help compile foundation BOMs and quantity takeoffs, coordinating with the civil design team.
• Work with structural engineers and senior designers to incorporate markups and revisions accurately.
• Follow applicable Client, EPC, Owner, and Utility standards on assigned drawings.
• Learn and follow CAD standards, templates, and file and revision control.
