Bollinger Shipyards, a leading marine vessel designer and builder, seeks a Structural Designer for a hybrid schedule in Lockport, LA. The role focuses on developing detailed structural drawings, BOMs, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and customer specifications.

Ideal candidates bring at least 1 year of shipbuilding design experience or an associate’s degree in a related field, with proficiency in AutoCAD and Ship Constructor and familiarity with USCG, ABS, SOLAS and other

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of structural design experience in shipbuilding or an associate’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Ship Constructor software; familiarity with USCG, ABS, SOLAS and related standards (NVR, NAVSEA, MIL).
• Ability to deliver clear technical drawings and engineering deliverables while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed structural drawings based on specifications and work orders.
• Ensure designs meet engineering rules and customer specifications.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM) to support projects.
• Consult with external vendors on project activities and specifications.
• Coordinate design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups.
• Evaluate designs against contractual specs and material availability.
