IMEG is growing, and we’d love to have you join us! We are seeking a Structural Design Engineer in our Idaho Falls, ID office. The role involves working with experienced engineers to provide engineering solutions and advice, assisting in analysis, design, and documentation of structural systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.

Key duties include:

  • Assist in designing and analyzing structural systems using various materials and software, ensuring compliance with codes and standards;
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand needs and gather requirements;
  • Support project execution, planning, and scheduling to meet deadlines;
  • Document design decisions and monitor project progress;
  • Analyze engineering tasks, propose solutions, and collaborate with senior staff;
  • Participate in quality control to meet standards and client needs;
  • Stay updated on industry trends and contribute to innovation;
  • Prioritize safety, act ethically, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams;
  • Engage in all project phases, including design, construction documents, and site observations.

Required skills:

  • Knowledge of design techniques and standards for various materials;
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, understanding of structural mechanics;
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software;
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills;
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities;
  • Willingness to learn and adapt;
  • Basic BIM software knowledge;
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite;
  • Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays.

Education & experience:

  • BSc in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering required;
  • MS in Structural Engineering preferred;
  • Internship experience and EIT license preferred.
