Overview

Senior Structural Designer opportunity, full-time, in North Babylon, Long Island. Onsite schedule is five days a week. The ideal candidate must reside within the tri-state area (Connecticut, New Jersey, or within the New York City Metropolitan area). Must possess a green card or be a citizen.

The position offers a full-time salary of $140,000 - $160,000 plus a comprehensive benefits and bonus package.

Base pay range

$140,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

• Deliver innovative and code-compliant structural solutions across the New York City Metropolitan area for a wide range of building types, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
• Lead structural analysis, design, and detailing; create accurate construction drawings, specifications, and BIM models (AutoCAD, Revit, and advanced structural design software).
• Apply knowledge of NYC Building Codes, DOB regulations, zoning requirements, and national standards (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, AASHTO) to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient designs.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors; review shop drawings and RFIs; conduct on-site inspections to verify construction quality.
• Engage in new construction, renovations, and retrofits with a focus on structural integrity, cost-effectiveness, and constructability.
• Support DOB filing, Local Law compliance, and special inspections as needed.
• Communicate effectively, solve problems, and provide leadership within the project team.

Qualifications

• Seven years of experience delivering structural design projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural design software (ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or Tekla).
• In-depth knowledge of New York City Building Codes, DOB regulations, zoning requirements, and national standards (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, AASHTO).
• Experience coordinating with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors; on-site inspection experience.
• Strong focus on safety, sustainability, and project efficiency; high-quality construction documentation and BIM modeling.
