Job summary

Tesla Facilities is seeking a civil/structural drafter to support design and construction across multiple projects. You will manage BIM (Revit) models, develop 3D engineering designs for permit and construction, and coordinate structural modeling with MEP professionals.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in civil/structural drafting and strong skills in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam, with the ability to work under supervision and meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• ITE drafting certification or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 years of civil/structural drafting for building or industrial projects.
• Expert knowledge of Revit Structural and proficiency with AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Works effectively under the direction of the Lead Engineer/Designer with minimal supervision and meets deadlines.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing project requirements/timelines.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Support the design and construction of new projects and renovations to existing industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities at multiple Tesla Facilities
• Manage high-quality BIM (Revit) models, develop 3D engineering designs in Revit, and prepare plan drawings, section/elevations, installation details, and schedules for permit and construction under the supervision of Lead Designer/Engineer
• Coordinate structural modeling with multidisciplinary project teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Piping/Plumbing (MEP) professionals
• Utilize and improve structural design standards by working with the BIM/CAD support team to achieve consistent results and incorporate new design into the existing facility models
• Assist Lead Engineer/Designer in gathering information for RFI’s
• Assist in developing material take-offs
• Assist in laying out of structural engineering solutions developed by Lead Engineer and Lead Designer in preparation for 30%, 60% and 90% model review
