Structural Design Engineer (Lead and Senior Level)

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking experienced Lead (Level 4) and Senior (Level 5) Structural Design Engineers to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The successful candidate will work on modifications and upgrades for the Bombers (B-1 and/or B-52) programs.

Position Responsibilities (Level 4):
  • Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
  • Maintain and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs using CAD tools, providing product definitions to engineering, production, suppliers, and customers throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead performance testing, integration, and analysis to verify systems meet requirements.
  • Manage supplier development, testing, and production activities, coordinating to optimize design and meet program goals.
  • Assist in investigating emerging technologies for future product designs.
  • Work under minimal direction.
Position Responsibilities (Level 5):
  • Provide oversight in developing, integrating, and documenting structural and interior payload system requirements.
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and modification of system and component designs using CAD tools.
  • Lead testing, integration, and analysis to verify compliance with requirements.
  • Manage supplier activities to ensure design goals are achieved.
  • Develop new design and analysis processes to improve effectiveness and quality.
  • Investigate emerging technologies for future designs.
  • Work under consultative direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The candidate must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance is required post-start.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical and/or structural design.
  • Experience with structural design models, including creation, review, and management.
  • Experience with conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design, including 2D and 3D deliverables.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (CATIA V5, SolidWorks, Siemens NX).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 14+ years of related experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance.
  • Experience validating structural models.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with aircraft primary and secondary structures, interior payloads.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
