Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and perform the work listed. This role promotes Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. It supports the Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects and applies standard engineering techniques to medium difficulty assignments.

  • Apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution for discipline engineering work
  • Develop and review specifications, including design criteria
  • Participate in equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities
  • Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve moderate to complex engineering problems
  • Review vendor equipment documentation for compliance and actively resolve discrepancies
  • Analyze and recommend solutions to problems of varying complexity according to organization and project guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements
  • Accredited four-year degree in engineering and four years of relevant experience; professional certification or registration may be required depending on location
  • Effective communication skills with diverse audiences
  • Necessary technical knowledge to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Attention to detail and efficient work habits
  • Professional registration (preferred)
  • Intermediate knowledge of discipline codes, standards, and materials cost and availability
  • Practical field experience
  • Intermediate computer skills including word processing, email, spreadsheets, and presentations
Other Job Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Knowledge in structural calculations, software like STAADPro, RISA3D, Mathcad, and related areas
  • Basic knowledge of blast design, effort-hour estimating, and staff forecasting
  • Experience managing small projects
  • Remote work requests evaluated based on role and project needs; periodic travel may be required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in STAADPro and Mathcad
  • Professional Engineer registration
  • Field experience and EPC project experience, especially with US federal agencies or nuclear facilities
Salary Range

$84,000 to $146,000, determined by qualifications, experience, location, and market conditions.
