Job summary

LVI Associates, a growing multidisciplinary structural engineering firm, seeks a Design Engineer to join its Salt Lake City, UT and Denver, CO team. You will perform structural analysis for commercial and institutional projects, collaborating with licensed engineers to develop calculations and construction details.

This role provides exposure to diverse projects, mentorship-driven growth, and opportunities to contribute to large-scale designs while advancing your structural engineering expertise

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required; pursuing PE licensure.
• ~4+ years of structural building design experience.
• Experience with concrete, steel, masonry, and/or wood systems.
• Familiarity with building codes and structural standards.
• Experience with structural analysis software and BIM platforms.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for commercial and institutional projects.
• Collaborate with internal project teams under licensed engineers.
• Assist in selecting structural systems and preparing construction details.
• Develop calculations, specifications, and project documentation.
• Coordinate work across architectural and engineering disciplines.
• Support construction administration (RFIs, submittals, shop drawings).
• Conduct site visits and produce observation reports.
• Contribute to large-scale projects and assist senior engineers.
• Participate in client coordination and internal knowledge sharing.
