VetJobs is seeking a Structural Department Craft Supervisor for our Maritime Solutions team in San Diego, California. This role supervises daily shop activities and ensures safety, quality, and productivity across contracts.

As a Structural Department Craft Supervisor, You Will:
  • Ensure that the Shop is pursuing Company goals for Safety, Quality and Productivity by overseeing the daily work performed.
  • Develop and/or review project schedules and budgets during the planning phase.
  • Allocate personnel and resources to efficiently support all contracts (including shift work) and work items.
  • Oversee and monitor schedule performance, including review of ongoing and upcoming projects, investigation of late activities, project supervision, and the development of practical solutions.
  • Monitor and evaluate project budget performance, including review of ongoing and upcoming projects, development of productivity enhancements and investigation of over-budget items.
  • Monitor productivity across all shifts, including the amount and type of work assigned as well as the quality and quantity of work accomplished.
  • Perform personnel related functions including, but not limited to, the supervision of employees, performance management, workforce reductions, promotions, demotions, and discipline.
  • Ensure that employees understand and adhere to Company policies.
  • Train and motivate employees in the areas of technical knowledge, safety, environmental and communication.
Minimum Education Required

High School/GED

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
  • Required a high school diploma or equivalent degree and at least 5 years’ experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend NAVSEA standard items.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge in the relevant trade.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, supervise, and direct the work of other employees in the relevant trade or industry.
  • Ability to use discretion and judgment in making operations and personnel decisions.
  • Proficient computer skills required including experience with Microsoft Office programs and similar software.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain DBIDS to access Military Base
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Ship Repair Experience
  • Basic computer skills (Excel/Word/Power point)
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $81156 - $137964

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
