Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is seeking skilled labor for formwork and concrete-related construction in Lorton, VA. The role requires reading a tape measure, working at heights, and outdoor duties across seasons.

The candidate must have own tools and pass a pre-employment physical/drug screening, with overtime potential. Starting hours vary, with a competitive hourly wage and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401K match.

Formación

• Read and use a tape measure with basic math (addition/subtraction).
• Comfortable working from heights.
• Must have your own tools adequate for all tasks.
• Able to work outdoors in all seasons.
• Must pass pre-employment physical/drug screening.

Responsabilidades

• Build and install forms for substructure/superstructure bridge elements and related structures.
• Measure materials or distances using square, tape measure, or ruler to lay out work.
• Cut or saw boards, timbers, or plywood to required size with handsaw/power saw or woodworking machine.
• Assemble and fasten material to construct wood or metal framework of structures.
• Anchor and brace forms and other structures using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks, wedges, and timbers.
• Mark cutting lines on materials using pencil and scriber.
• Erect forms, framework, scaffolds, ladders, hoists, or roof supports with hand tools and level.
• Bore bolt holes using power drill.
• Assemble wood or metal forms for construction of columns and walls.
• Build and set concrete form work.
• Pour, smooth and level concrete using rake, trowel, float, vibrator and screed.
• Direct pump trucks, concrete trucks, or crane operators for safe placement of concrete.
• Apply sealing and curing compounds.
• Willingness to perform manual labor to support projects.
• Ensure health and safety culture and policies are met.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and coworkers.
