Job summary

Thorson Baker + Associates, Inc. is seeking a detailed CAD drafter to prepare drawings and 3D models for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. You will apply company CAD standards, review work for accuracy, and collaborate with engineers to refine drawings and models.

The role includes general project support and a flexible starting time. Ideal candidates have an AAS in CD&D or 3+ years of AutoCAD/Revit experience, and proficiency in Word and Excel.

Qualifications

• Associate of Applied Science in Computer Drafting and Design or 3+ years of AutoCAD/Revit experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Able to interpret and incorporate markups into finalized drawings.
• Detail-oriented with strong drafting and modeling skills.
• Willingness to work additional hours to meet deadlines.

• Collaborate directly with engineers to develop, coordinate, and revise project drawings and models.
• Provide general project support, including copying, scanning, filing, printing, emailing, and organizing project plans and documents for shipment.

Requirements

• Education/Experience: Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Drafting and Design, or a minimum of three years of professional experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Drafting & Modeling: Familiarity with drafting and modeling practices, including the ability to interpret and incorporate markups and convert redline drawings into finalized documents.
• Work Ethic: Demonstrates a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to complete assigned responsibilities efficiently and accurately.
• Multitasking: Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Work Schedule: Willingness to work additional hours beyond 40 hours per week, when necessary, to meet project deadlines and client requirements.

Thorson Baker + Associates offers a flexible starting time:

• 8 hours Mon-Friday
• 8.5 hours Mon-Thursday with 6-hour Fridays
• 9 hours Mon-Thursday with 4-hour Fridays
