Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Design Engineer to support a multidisciplinary team in creating frame and structural requirements for new products, engineering prototypes, and reengineering existing products within the global residential division. You will model in CAD, document designs, and prepare manufacturing-ready prints.

This role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams, testing, material evaluation, and converting concepts into production-ready

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 0-2 years of work experience or equivalent.
• SolidWorks experience.
• Ability to interpreting part print.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Up to 10% travel required.
• ASQ Certification (preferred).
• Associate's degree in engineering (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying and developing frame and structural requirements.
• Create detailed drawings and CAD models for multiple materials.
• Research and implement changes to existing products and document designs.
• Create physical prototypes for review against design criteria.
• Develop and execute test plans for new or existing materials.
