Farnsworth Group is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineer in one of the following locations. In this role, you will work collaboratively within a team to design, manage, and deliver transportation structural engineering projects serving local and nationwide clients.

Job Activities:

1. Serve as a technical resource to mentor, manage, and provide QC/QA for Transportation Structural Team staff.
2. Lead/perform designs as Engineer-of-Record for typical, advanced, and complex bridge projects.
3. Perform structural planning, analysis, and design for transportation projects.
4. Manage and supervise bridge design projects including steel, concrete, foundations, and related structures.
5. Manage client communications, project scope, schedule, budget, and supervise other engineers.
6. Provide QC/QA for structural designs and projects.
7. Assist in preparing project proposals and statements of qualifications.

Specific Requirements:

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
• Illinois Licensed Structural Engineer (SE).
• 8+ years of bridge engineering experience, including advanced structures.
• Hands-on experience as Engineer-of-Record in bridge design, codes, calculations, and contract documents.
• Proficiency with structural analysis programs and bridge design software.
• Leadership, communication skills, and teamwork ability.
• Experience with IDOT and/or Tollway Bridge projects (5+ years).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with complex and/or railroad structures.
• Master's in Structural Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Project and client management skills.
• NHI certification for Bridge Safety Inspection.
• Familiarity with engineering software such as Bentley CONNECT, OpenBridge Designer, RISA-3D, etc.

Salary Range:

$100,000-$150,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
