Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to assist with a major transportation project. Our Bridge & Structures Infrastructure team is recognized for leadership in planning and designing structural projects. We are respected for our strong technical skills, solid project delivery, and excellent performance. This role is based out of our Centreville, VA office.

The engineer will complete a wide variety of challenging assignments, applying engineering techniques within their discipline. At this level, the engineer is a fully qualified professional, proficient in engineering theories and practices, with some assignments involving CAE/CAD applications.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Prepare engineering computations, material quantity estimates, surveys, and designs.
• Create drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction, often interfacing with other engineering disciplines and departments.
• Draft detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
• Review supplier drawing submittals and perform technical bid analyses.
• Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and construction documents.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD designers, drafters, and junior engineers on projects.
• May be required to seal and sign engineering documents, ensuring compliance with all codes and regulations.
• May advise senior management on engineering matters.
• Perform other related responsibilities as needed.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, with typically 8+ years of relevant experience. Professional Engineer registration may be required.

Skills and Competencies:

Proficiency in CAD and other engineering software is required.
