Job summary

AMI Consulting Engineers is seeking a Structural Engineering BIM Technician to develop accurate BIM models and construction documents for marine, waterfront, and civil projects in the Pensacola area.

You will work with engineers and project managers to ensure high-quality, coordinated drawings from design through construction, with emphasis on BIM standards and cross-discipline collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certificate in drafting/engineering tech or related field.
• 2-5 years experience using Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar software.
• Strong knowledge of drafting standards and construction documentation.
• Ability to interpret drawings, markups, specs, and instructions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with good organization and time management.
• Ability to work independently and in a project team.

Responsibilities

• Develop construction drawings using Revit and AutoCAD for marine, industrial, and civil projects.
• Create plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules from calculations and redlines.
• Maintain project files, BIM models, and sheet sets throughout lifecycles.
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure accuracy.
• Participate in QA/QC to ensure standards and specs are met.
• Assist in developing and maintaining BIM/CAD standards and templates.
• Support multidisciplinary coordination and clash detection.
• Improve design efficiency via BIM best practices and automation.
