Job summary

Textron Systems in Wilmington, MA seeks a Structural Analyst II/III to perform static and dynamic structural analyses of flight vehicles in the missiles and reentry area. You will use Siemens NX, Ansys, MATLAB, and Textron tools to derive structural characteristics and responses.

The role requires 2+ years (Level II) or 5+ years (Level III) of experience, plus strong documentation skills in Word/Excel/PowerPoint. Eligible for security clearance is preferred. Travel up to 5% may be necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of experience (Level II).
  • Bachelors in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience (Level III).
  • Experience with Siemens NX, Ansys, MATLAB and Textron tools.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint to document analysis methods and results.

Responsibilities

  • Perform static and dynamic structural analyses of flight vehicles in missiles/reentry area.
  • Use COTS tools and Textron software to generate structural characteristics and responses.
  • Define changes to improve performance/efficiency of structural design features.
  • Summarize results via presentations and design analysis reports.

About This Role

We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Serve as a structural analyst performing static and dynamic structural analyses of flight vehicles in the strategic missiles and reentry vehicle area.
  • Utilize a combination of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) tools (Siemens NX, Ansys, MATLAB) and Textron developed software tools to generate structural characteristics and responses.
  • Define recommended changes to improve the performance/efficiency of structural design features.
  • Summarize results and design application techniques during the above activities via presentations and design analysis reports.
  • Up to 5% travel may be required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 2+ years’ of experience in structural analysis and design (Level II).
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 5+ years’ of experience in structural analysis and design (Level III).
  • Demonstrated capability/experience in the use of COTS structural/mechanical tools (Siemens NX, Ansys, MATLAB) and a desire to obtain a working knowledge of Textron developed software.
  • Demonstrated capability/experience in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) to document structural analysis methodology and results.
  • Excellent communication skills are required, as the position requires the description/documentation of structural analysis techniques and results using a variety of tools (PowerPoint, Word).
  • Active security clearance is preferred, eligibility for clearance is required.

*This role is open at multiple levels. Candidates will be hired at a level consistent with their background and experience:

  • Level II: $92,600 – $139,600
  • Level III: $115,800 – $176,200
