Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector in San Diego is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer–Level 2 to develop and analyze metallic and composite structures, generate FE models, and support hardware from design through verification.

You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test teams; apply FEA for normal modes, static and dynamic stress, thermo-elastic effects; and prepare technical presentations for internal reviews and customer design reviews. On-site role with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• BS in STEM with at least 2 years of experience.
• Experience with finite element modeling.
• Knowledge of structural analysis for aerospace structures containing metals, sandwich panels, composites, plastics and bonded joints.

Responsibilities

• Assess structural integrity of metallic and composite structures using finite element analysis (FEA).
• Generate Finite Element Models and perform FEA for normal modes, static, dynamic and thermo-elastic distortion analyses.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test teams to ensure successful hardware execution and delivery.
• Prepare presentations summarizing structural assessment results for internal reviews and external design reviews.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
