Job summary

Lanteris Space is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to join our Mountain View team. You will perform structural analyses on spacecraft structures and subsystem assemblies, including static, dynamic and thermal stress analyses, and develop load cases for space missions.

Responsibilities include conducting FEA and hand calculations, designing structural tests, and collaborating with design and manufacturing teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil or related engineering field; four additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
  • 2 years of experience required; a master’s degree may account for two years of experience.
  • Proficiency with FEMAP or Patran.
  • Knowledge of structural testing, strength of materials, stress analysis and structural dynamics.
  • Familiarity with advanced composite materials.

  • Perform static, dynamic and thermal stress analyses as part of structural analysis work.
  • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and classical hand calculations for metallic, non-metallic and composite structures.
  • Provide technical inputs to mechanical designs and support manufacturing-related structural issues.
  • Develop comprehensive load cases for on-orbit operations, launch environments, test conditions and ground handling scenarios.
  • Design and execute structural test programs, including static and dynamic testing, to validate analytical predictions and design integrity.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing teams and cross-disciplinary subsystems to solve complex problems.
  • Consolidate analysis results into clear technical documentation.
  • Write test reports and present findings in technical reviews.

Job description

Lanteris Space is currently seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team in Mountain View, CA. You'll be part of a challenging and fast-paced team, working on spacecrafts operating in earth orbits, deep space missions, interplanetary missions and much more. In this role, you will be responsible for performing structural analysis on spacecraft structures and subsystem assemblies.

Responsibilities
  • Perform structural analyses which includes static, dynamics and thermal stress analysis
  • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and classical hand calculations to evaluate metal, non-metallic, and composite structures
  • Provide technical Inputs to mechanical designs and support manufacturing related structural issues

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil or other engineering discipline or a related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degre

  • Proficiency with FEMAP or Patran
  • Knowledge of structural testing, and basic structural analysis concepts such as strength of materials, stress analysis, and structural dynamics
  • Familiarity with advanced composite materials

Salary Range
  • The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $71,000.00 - $119,000.00 annually.
  • The base pay for this position within New Jersey is: $71,000.00 - $119,000.00 annually.
  • The base pay for this position within Delaware is: $71,000.00 - $119,000.00 annually.
  • The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $79,000.00 - $131,000.00 annually.
  • The base pay for this position within California is: $82,000.00 - $136,000.00 annually.

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
