Job summary

Belcan is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to research, design, and maintain mechanical products and processes. The role requires creating engineering drawings, reading blueprints, and applying FEA methods to validate designs.

Qualifications

• Log quality issues and arrange corrections to models.
• Run model setups and submit jobs to HPC cluster.

• Draw conclusions and make recommendations to design, simulation, and validation partners.
• Contribute to peer reviews and to improvements in simulation methods.

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a pay rate of $45/hr. however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Job Summary:

The main function of a mechanical engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. A typical mechanical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.

Job Responsibilities:

• Create and use Finite Element Analysis models either individually or in collaboration with supplier firm
• Log quality issues and arrange for corrections to models
• Perform model setup, submit jobs to high-performance computing cluster
• Perform simulations of static, modal, and dynamic simulations
• Develop understanding of design mechanical capacity for strength and fatigue
• Author reports containing assumptions, models and results
• Draw conclusions and make recommendations to design, simulation, and validation partners
• Contribute to and participate in peer reviews
• Contribute to improvements in simulation methods and processes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience (or equivalent MS/PhD experience)
• Strong understanding of dynamics, material properties, and fatigue

• Hands-on experience with ABAQUS and HyperMesh
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• User-defined material modeling experience
• Machine/structural design and validation background

Education

• - BS in Mechanical Engineering or Related Engineering Field plus 5-7
• - Industrial experience in structural analysis, preferably with a focus on static and/or dynamic analysis
