Job summary

Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) is seeking a Stroke & Trauma Coordinator under the Director of Emergency Services. The role centers on quality assurance, setting goals, implementing Stroke Center Certification and Trauma Designation policies, and coordinating across ED, labs, imaging, and nursing to optimize patient care.

The coordinator will organize multidisciplinary services, develop training for ER/ICU staff, and lead ongoing staff education aligned with certification standards.

Qualifications

• RN must hold current license in Kentucky or eligible
• Two years of clinical experience preferred
• Leadership and communication skills required and demonstrated

• Coordinate with the ED, nursing units, laboratory, radiology and other support departments to support Stroke Center Certification and Trauma Designation

Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Emergency Services, the Stroke & Trauma Coordinator is primarily responsible for quality assurance and for developing goals and objectives, as well as implementing department‑wide policies and procedures related to Stroke Center Certification and Trauma Designation. The Coordinator coordinates with the Emergency Department, nursing units, laboratory, radiology, and other support departments that impact the delivery system. She or he is responsible for organizing the services and systems necessary for a multidisciplinary approach throughout the continuum of care and for the orientation/training of staff in the ER/ICU and in relation to the Stroke Center Certifications and Trauma Designation.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

• BSN preferred

Minimum Work Experience

• Two years of clinical experience preferred

Required Licenses/Certifications

• Current registration as RN in the state (or eligibility to do so)

Required Skills, Knowledge And Abilities

• Demonstrated clinical competence in emergency and critical care nursing
• Demonstrated leadership ability and potential managerial competency, including effective communication, ability to deal well with people, solve problems, confront and resolve issues, motivate others, and plan, organize and direct activities of others
• Required to comply with OSHA regulations for the N95 respirator training and fit testing
